Spambot Takes backseat to legitimate Comment!

September 25th, 2006 by Jay

So this morning, I’m checking my email and to my surprise, I have a new comment to review.
I figured it was my arch nemesis, the WordPress Spambot… but no, actually it was a new comment related to a mirrored thread I’d setup after the company I am contracted to was heading out to Dallas this past weekend to participate. I immediately validated when I found it. Here’s the comment:

Giovanni Gallucci Says:
Photos from Coffee Cup Software’s Webmaster Jam Session are being posted on my flickr account. You can find the link to my photos at http://www.TheAgencyBlog.com.
Podcasts will be posted at either http://www.MediaSwamp.com or http://www.QuesoCompuesto.com (location depends on the content of the session).
The photos are open source! Use at will…just throw me some link love :-)
enjoy!”

This is pretty cool to me, as I never really expected to get this sort of hit.
Now, here’s the thing… I realize it was likely just this blogging expert and Self pro-claimed Search Evangelist’s way of spamming the blogging world with his pics n’ coverage of the WJS2006…

But you know what? It works for me. Reciprocal link created on the right.
